This unit is not portable.
So far, I\'m completely impressed! It\'s everything I expected in from Bose in a very affordable, small footprint sound system with amazing output for the casual music fan. I\'m sure that serious audiophiles will have more sophisticated tastes and needs, but I\'m just a person with a 1,200 sq ft house who wanted a stereo system that I could hear and rock out to in the living/dining/kitchen areas, and this offers robust sound without distortion when volume turned all the way up, easy plug and play anywhere (no more speaker wires...yay!) and is so cute and small it fits nicely on an end table next to the couch. Or move it to the kitchen counter, or anywhere with A/C power. Flexible, lightweight, portable, great sound, fantastic looks, quality music system \"for dummies\".
My Wife just loves the system. She can play her old school and Hawaiian mixes. The sound is crystal clear and the sound quaility is nothing less than Perfect!
I have an iPod classic with thousands of songs that I’m not ready to sacrifice. This Bose SoundDock is the perfect device to amplify that music.

This iPod player has no buttons to turn the volume down etc if you lose the remote you are out of luck. This is also an older version. I bought an extra part to make my iPod fit. It still doesn’t work. One big disappointment.
