- It is important to read all info before purchasing this unit. 1 - You must register it with your carrier, so figure that out first. The fact that you must register appears only in disclaimer form, not featured clearly in the advertising or instructions. How one goes about registering is not covered in the instructions either. 2 - The outdoor antenna must be at least 39 feet from the indoor antenna, so you need some room. It\'s going to be difficult if you are trying to install in a condo building situation. If I figure this out and get it working, I will revise my review.
- This is one I was excited to try out. I work around tech all day long in the data center and love bringing new solutions into my home. So let’s start out with the number one questions:does it work? Answer: YES*Does it work well? Kinda**Is it work the money? That depends****yes but with limitations. It does bridge Signal coverage, but only to what the antenna can pick up. General rule of thumb here, if your phone gets 4 bars by there you place the antenna, expect 4 bars in side. Is this the definitive rule? By no means. A lot of factors will cause different results with different installs. Is it possible to mount high on your roof and aim it right at a tower to get even better service? Sure…if you know how. Could this be installed in entirely the wrong place and hamper service? Yes it can. This is not always an easy install, so please do not expect guaranteed results.** so for me it brings three bars of LTE coverage into my living room in the basement. Sadly with my house set up that is where most of the benefits are seen. The signal from the repeater does not reach well through my walls. I have similar issues with WiFi, curse of a 100 year old house I guess. I also love in Wyoming, and anyone familiar with the area will tell you we love open space and hate people around us. Wyominites are folks that like sparse populations and privacy. This means there are not a lot of people around and thus, not the best cell coverage in general. If I lived in a bigger city/more densely populated areas, if I had a newer house with less concrete and metal, if I had any of dozens of reason, yes this would work better. For me it is a three star product. It repeats but seems to be fairly passive so not bringing much advantage to people who likely would be looking for an item like this.*** it is hard to recommend this as it really depends on why you are buying it. If you truly take the time to look into these products, do a good site survey of your install location including scouting out your nearest cell tower, take care to make sure your cell band will work, and set realistic expectations then yes this is worth it. I will keep experimenting with mine and depending on what I come up with far as tweaking to increase efficiency I may update rating later. It is good to note however that my box came clearly opened and missing instructions, so any future updates will unfortunately be limited to a max of 4 stars for me. I realize this may not be the manufacture fault but nevertheless this review is based on my experience with the product I received. Hopefully future buyers will receive it in theirs.
- I have a cell phone through Verizon, but in my small city I had one bar at all times. The booster took me a minute to figure out but once I got it, it took less than 30 minutes to set everything up. I have 3 bars now and can actually send pictures to people through text and on messenger. It was taking 30+ minutes prior for the photos to go through and it was super aggravating. I was happy to see this available to review because I was struggling with signal so badly.
- We had 1 bar at our house. It took my husband a bit to decide where to put the outside part because our house is kind of in a bowl. Lower elevation. You have to drive about 1/2 mile to get better signal so it drops calls sometimes and you can’t do video calls. After my husband set this up, we get 2 bars. He has an idea that if he installs it up higher maybe it will work even better so he’s going to get more cord and try that too. Still, 2 bars is twice as nice as 1 bar, so I’m happy with having better service in the house.
- Likes:It is essentially plug and play, meaning you connect the outdoor antenna to the indoor unit and antenna, then plug in the power supply and BAM signal was boosted. I didn’t have to register the unit with my cell phone provider or anything and there was no account set up needed. Super easy. I also ran an internet speed test before and after my cell before and after I plugged in the booster and it doubled my upload speeds. I’ve included a before and after pic.I am taking the unit with us when we go camping this week and there is very little reception in the area (we are boondocking). I’m going to test it out there and see if I’ll be able to boost my signal enough to stream the TV at night or not. I’ll update after our trip.So far, for the house it is worth it!
- Actually improved my cell signal speed by double, very easy to install and set up takes minutes definitely a asset to my daily activity especially when roaming around the house
- This system actually works. I tested data bandwidth to my phone with wifi turned off, just my phone talking to the cell tower down the road. The result was 6.56Mb down, and .16Mb up. Pretty terrible. After installing this system up in my attic, in the inside of my house, not outside -- at the highest point where I know the signal will be the strongest, there was a large improvement. The result after installation was 18.5Mb down and 1.67Mb up. About a 3X improvement down, and a 10X improvement up. A much better overall experience using my phone when wifi is down.I wish the included coax cable was longer and also less rigid. I found working with it was somewhat difficult.
- This is a good value, this booster took my Verizon signal from 2 to 4 bars which is life changing for me. I can up load and download things so much faster with those 2 extra bars. Installation is not bad at all. You do need to mount the antenna as high as you can and tune it to the closest cell tower which is pretty simple. Running the cable will take the most time. For any booster to work you need a basic signal to start with, if I drop to 1 bar the booster will not boost it, this is true of all boosters I have ever tested. This booster does not have a screen to monitor what is going on but it is reasonably priced and the screen is not a must have. I would buy again. 5 STARS
