- Have several external batteries that will power laptops as well as USB applications and this is my favorite. I\'m on the go a lot for work, and the BiX is even better than getting out my ac adapter when power gets low because it\'s quicker and easier to use. Successfully powered my Lenovo Thinkpad yoga 12 i7 for 7+ hours, after which I had the full charge on the laptop to use. Very good performance for my application, and better than any of my other externals, e.g., RAVPower 23000mAh Portable Charger 4.5A DC Output External Battery Pack (3-Port, 9V/12V/16V/19V/20V, LCD Display) for Macbook, Laptops, Smartphones .While Lenovo voltage is nominally 20v, the BiX charges it just fine on the 19v setting. Will of course charge any of my USB 5v items quickly as well. The process for setting voltage is straightforward and sensibility voltage cannot be changed once charging has begun. The input and output barrel connections are both standard 5.5x2.1mm, meaning you can easily replace a lost output cable and create all kinds of connection schemes with other tips, or, combined with the flexibility of input voltage, charge the unit with a wide variety of ac adapters. I purchased some shorter dual male 5.5x2.1mm output cables Valley Enterprises® 1 Foot Male to Male 2.1mm x 5.5mm Plug DC Power Adapter Cable 18GA and the requisite Lenovo square tip and saved some packing space. My compact 90w third party adapters for my Thinkpad will all charge the BiX, e.g., SIIG (AC-PW1212-S1) Ultra-Compact Universal Laptop Power Adapter -90W for Samsung Sony Dell HP Lenovo IBM Acer Gateway Acer Fujitsu Toshiba Liteon Delta Compaq . Thus, it\'s much more practical to carry the BiX with the laptop since a single ac adapter works for both..Finally, the total capacity is just below the carry on limit for several airlines I fly, making this the most powerful external I can carry with me.My wish-fors are modest: an additional USB port and a few more bars on the charge indicator. Given the many positives, not worth subtracting a star.Net, five stars for power, flexibility, reliability and attention to detail in design and execution that sets the unit apart from other options.
- I used it and it runs my Nathan Lee electric spinner for about 4 hours. I liked it enough to go and buy the bigger one the BiXPower MAC220. This one is lighter in weight than the bigger one so it is easier to carry with the spinner.After 4 years of use it is still going strong. I use it for recharging my cell phones and kindles and tablets when camping and my e-spinner also. I have taken it on airlines from the USA to Canada with no problems in my carry on luggage. This battery pack is super reliable and would highly recommend it.
- I tried to use this battery in a 24v 2.5 amp application. I couldn\'t get it to put out 24V at that current. it\'s a sleek package, well designed, with pretty good documentation. The customer service is outstanding. I had my son return the battery and he threw away the tracking number. BiXNet people said they had no record of my unit being returned, but they refunded my money anyway. I wouldn\'t hesitate to use this for any 12V or lower application or a light duty application at the higher voltages the unit supplies.
