Sennheiser RS 135 On-Ear Wireless RF Headphones with Charging Cradle

  • I am enjoying watching TV once again since I purchased these headphones. I am 70 years old & have Mild Cognitive Impairment from small strokes. My previous headphones had stopped working after about 30 minutes of use so I had to find more. I\'m so happy I went with these Sennheiser ones. They last me all day if I want them to while watching TV or listening to music. I like that they have a volume adjustment also. They are a little big for my small head & would fall off if I bend over . I also did not like the ear pads as they laid flat against my ears & were uncomfortable. I found some replacements on Amazon & love them as they fit around my ears & also help keep the headphones from falling off if I bend over. If a program goes off & there\'s no sound from the tv the headphones will which to what I would call \"white noise\" I guess. That\'s the only word I can think of to define it. It was a little startlingly the first time it happened. I would definitely buy these again.
  • Great for watching TV, with the TV on mute.
  • TV. Is my third pair of these. The first 2 latest about 20 years and then got scratchy. There are better ones out there but to me these are the best value for using for TV.
  • (These have quit working and are being returned) I had a pair of Sennheiser RF Wireless headphones years ago and was underwhelmed, I don\'t know why I thought it would be different this time? Why TV manufacturers don\'t include a headphone jack I will never understand. I don\'t have a newer Smart TV with blutooth, but I read there can be latency issues? From what I have seen older sets will usually just have a Toslink aka Optical OUT that mate up with older home theater receivers. If your TV has RCA OUT (red and white) then you can make a direct connection to the HDR-135 which will amplify the signal (I don\'t think a DAC is needed but not a 100%) . There are Blutooth transmitters that have a Optical INPUT your milage may vary. If you are or are considering a Wireless option for a person not willing or able to Troubleshoot the connection Wireless isn\'t a good choice. If You want a wired connection then you need to do two things: Convert the digital signal to Analog and then you need to amplify the signal. There are devices called Dor AC (Digital Audio Converter) that take that Optical (digital) signal and give you RCA or 3.5 mm output. This signal needs a Headphone Amplifier. There are devices that do both. So The headphones plug into a cigarette pack sized amp and all you have to manage is turning on the power and handling the volume knob. If you use this method you should still be able to use the TV speakers as well. This works well if there is only one person who needs the headphones. As for the HDR-135 the headphones them have a few Cons:The headphones are not adjustable for head size. I am a large mammal and my head is not small and there is no way ro snug these up, you can only extend the length to your ears. They are very light weight and that is usually a good thing but considering you can\'t get a snug fit the headphones are moving around if you move your head around. The headphones have channel swithing on the base I have yet to see this do anything impressive. On the headphones you have On\Off and a wheel to tune the RF signal and a wheel for volume. Nearly each time I sit down with them you have to tune the RF in while the headphones blow out your ears with white noise.Reception is a \"your milage may vary\" scenario. Often you hear a whoosh of static when you move your head.If you put a player on Pause the RF signal will be lost before the player goes into screen saver or powers down\sleeps causing your ears to be blown out by white noise again. The sound itself is fairly anemic. I using them line of sight less than 10ft and I wouldn\'t listen to music with them as the treble seems accented and the low end stripped out.
  • Small apartment, husband watches tv a lot, me I read, need these for quiet in apartment. Don’t ask just order and have a great relationship!
  • I can’t get it hooked up to my tv very frustrating.
  • This headphone is ok, but could use improvement. I have an older model of this headphone and liked it but it stopped working so got the same model as a replacement. The new model is not comfortable if you wear it for very long. The older model is much more comfortable. The recharging cradle is not reliable. If you don\'t have the headphones placed exactly right, the unit will stop recharging. The slightest vibration can cause the headphones to move enough so the charging stops. It would be nice to have some indication that the unit is fully charged. One annoying feature is that the transmitter shuts down after 5 minutes if there is no sound. When this happens, the headphones change to a static sound which is annoying if you fall asleep and wake up to static. Also when you first start using, it takes a few seconds for the headphones to wake up so you miss the first bits. Manufacturer says this is a power saving feature, but the transmitter is what shuts down and it is plugged in; but the headphones still emit the static and are battery operated so the power saving part is backwards.
