- The short story: When properly installed, the unit doubled my bars (2 became 4). To get this result, I had to start within 12 feet of the indoor antenna for the phone to pickup the boosted signal, and then stay within 24 feet of the indoor antenna. Don\'t start within 12 feet: no boost; walk beyond the 24 feet: no boost. I tested this multiple times and took measurements.Properly installing: I read some of the other reviews and did an internet search on how to find out what channel my phone used (AT&T 12) -- if the channel does not match the list for this device, it won\'t help you. I also searched for the closest mobile tower to my location that delivered the channel I need. For me, it\'s about 1 mile away through lots of trees. Mind you, this is a BOOSTER, which DOUBLED my signal, so if you have super low signal, you might not get much benefit from any device. Also, if you point your outdoor antenna in the wrong direction, the booster will have nothing to boost. You are supposed to mount the outdoor antenna as high as you can, separate the two antennas by at least 39 feet, and ensure neither faces the other. (I could only achieve about 23 feet separation, but the system still worked for me.)Other things to know: This is a DYI installation, but only if you have the proper tools, ladder, weatherproofing, and some experience -- you will be putting a hole into your outside and inside walls. Give the unit a few minutes to get the signal and settle in to providing a consistent boost (3-5 minutes is enough). The indoor range limitation is a bummer for me. At this price, I was hoping for something that will cover the whole house, or at least most of it, but since I need to start within 12 feet of the antenna to pick up the boosted signal, this really only works for my great room. Centralizing between the great room section and the office/bedroom section of the house would mean that neither are well covered. Something to note is the the 24 feet is unobstructed (great room installation), and it may be less if you install it somewhere with obstructions. With this covering my great room, I may buy one of the cheaper, under $100 boosters just for my office.
- The scanner did exactly what I wanted. It cleared three error codes so I could pass emissions test. Some people websites told me that I could clear the codes by disconnecting the battery and draining the remaining power. It didn\'t work. This scanner cleared the codes and I was able to pass emissions test a couple days later. Thanks, it saved me a couple hundred dollars.

- Living in the mountains we have no cell service in the house. It varies from No Signal to zero bars and is unusable.I mounted the outside antenna near the peak of the roof pointed in the direction of what little signal there is (using the weBoost app). Mounted the indoor antenna about chest level in the living/dining area. The electronic unit shows 3 bars and the phones vary from 1-3 bars now. This helps with phone battery life and is usable when the internet service goes out. I need to permanently run the wires and whatnot but happy with having a signal in the house now!I do wish the indoor antenna was a bit more pleasing to the eye but overall happy with the unit!
- This repeater works well. It does take some thought and effort to install it for optimum results. You may need to acquire longer cables depending on your situation. Ideally you would point the outside antenna to a cell tower that is line of sight. The less obstructions the better. Including trees, brush, walls, etc. The outside antenna must be far enough away and not pointed to the inside antenna. Otherwise it will produce positive feedback. Feedback could result in a weak output or no output at all depending on how big a problem it is. You don\'t want the amplifier to throttle back power in an attempt to compensate for poorly positioned antennas.
