- I\'m new to handheld gimbal stabilizers, but from what I\'ve seen of this, it packs a lot of features in the unit. It has 3-axis stabilization, which means the camera can remain oriented at the subject while your hand moves around it, much like a bird\'s head. It features a motor lock for the axis at the head of the handle, which is actuated by a switch at the base of the arm near the swivel. However the lock at the end of the arm that\'s attached to the handle is a physical snap-lock, so don\'t be afraid of breaking it to free the secondary arm to rotate. I would recommend doing this before powering it on as motor systems tend to not like being moved when power is being supplied to them.The fit and finish of the stabilizer is very high quality with a rubberized/textured finish to help with maintaining your grip. There are multiple 1/4\" tripod mounts, and it comes with a small tripod stand that you can use for stationary shots. The clamp for the phone will orient for landscape or portrait shots. It was able to extend just enough to accommodate my iPhone 13 Pro in its Tech21 case, but I suspect that if you have the larger Max versions of the iPhone, you will need to remove the case. It would be nice if companies would take these things into consideration. There is a USB-C port on the stabilizer that can be used to provide power to the phone using the included cables.Everything comes in a semi-hard shell carrying case, which should be adequate for protecting it for transport. I would definitely not recommend just throwing the stabilizer itself into a bag even for brief periods, and it could be damaged that way.With the associated app, the stabilizer allows for a lot of control from the handle, including focus, zoom, record start/stop, in addition to controlling the stabilizer itself. There\'s a joystick to control the camera movement, and there are different modes that lock certain servos to suit a variety of shot modes.There is an optional magnetic light/AI sensor, which adds a lot of features, but this package did not include it, so I cannot comment any more than from what I saw in the videos and instructions.The learning curve is a bit steep, but that\'s not too surprising considering the depth of features. Having said that, I let my teenage son and his friend use it as they have been making a video with RC tanks, and they were able to gain basic proficiency with it in under an hour. Overall, I\'m very pleased with this and look forward to using it. I would be very interested in seeing what the AI/Light module adds in terms of functionality, but it doesn\'t look like it\'s offered separately. If the AI features or fill-light functionality are important to you, then you should strongly consider the package that includes that unit.
- This is a really nice Gimbal and allows much better stability for my motion videos. The panning is very smooth and the controls on the device work well within the app. The Gimbal can be used alone without the app as well. Use of the app enables face and object tracking. The feature works decently well, but it is not smooth. I looked into purchasing the ai sensor, but it is currently not available for purchase as a standalone item. This is a nice product, but I would recommend upgrading to the kit with the ai sensor included or purchasing a cheaper Gimbal without it.
- Great Gimbal! Comes with a nice carrying case with handle. Comes with tripod stand and charging wire to charge your phone from the Gimbal. Also came with a lightening connector wire to connect an iPhone even though it said it was sold separately. Gimbal has zoom and pan options. Using the A and B buttons you can also set the Gimbal to pan back and forth with a simple double tap of a button, which is Great for sports. Also has a sports mode option. Can be used on a tripod as well with 1/4 screw mount. Definitely a great product!
- The set up and balancing wasn\'t as easy as I hoped it would be. I actually had a hard time with that. This is my first gimbal, and I\'m sure it\'ll get easier. The app made it a little easier to follow along, and the Bluetooth connection allowed me to use the features on the gimbal. The construction is solid and made with quality materials. The grip and tripod are covered in a rubberized material for a firm grip. It has a small OLED screen, which helps you check the battery, the user mode, and the device\'s status. It has a focus, zoom, and start/stop recording button, all ergonomically designed and within reach of your fingers. A version of the M6 includes a video light that attaches magnetically to the gimbal, which is a great option. You may want to consider this if you do indoor shoots. The gimbal itself has multiple tripod attachments that come in handy to install other accessories like wireless microphones and lights.The hohem M6 has all the cables necessary to connect lightning or USB-C devices. It also includes a carrying case which is a plus. You don\'t want this gimbal in a drawer or at the bottom of a backpack. It is a precision device that can be bent or get the servo motors damaged.The hohem M6 connects to your phone via the hohem Joy app using Bluetooth. The app has tutorials and an album to access your creations, allowing you complete remote control of the phone\'s camera. It controls the zoom, camera focus, and other camera controls and features. It has object and face tracking, built-in filters, and gestural controls for solo shooters.In conclusion, this is a fantastic Gimbal for mobile devices. It\'s rich in features and quality built. The hohem M6 Gimbal Stabilizer is a solid choice for professional content creators and amateur videographers.
